Located in the Georgian Museum, the Archive Room offers a collection of Fairfield county historical and genealogical resources.  The recent renovation transformed a room on the second floor into a dedicated research space for storing and organizing our collections and artifacts.

We have a wide variety of resources housed in our Archive Room which cover Fairfield county history:

  • Lancaster history
  • Local family genealogy & artifacts
  • Fairfield county pioneer history
  • Historic photographs & negatives, drawings, maps, and newspapers
  • Boys Industrial School (BIS) collection
  • Oral history cassettes and DVD’s
  • Local historical military books, rosters, and manuscripts
  • Local church and business history

Columbus Metropolitan

The Fairfield County Heritage Association Collection consists of photographs, newspapers, and documents pertaining to Fairfield County history. Subjects include, but are not limited to, pioneering families, businesses, historic houses, schools, and significant events. The collection will grow as time and resources allow.

 

The Fairfield County Genealogical Society and the Fairfield County District Library also have local genealogical and historical resources.
